Learning to design and print your own fabric provides immediate gratification for creatives. Whether you want to print small motifs for use in collage type work or amazing borders for a special piece, the design possibilities are unlimited. You will learn to create and transfer designs, carve a block, and print your own fabric using water-based, washable, permanent textile inks. Design motifs will be provided for you to use, but you are encouraged to use your own original designs as well. We will explore options such as tiled designs and other surface pattern design ideas. Block Printing can be used to enhance anything from wearable art to just about any other type of textile art project, and many types of fabrics are suitable for printing.
