Marcia shares a pictorial history of collage, which had its foundation in paper and paste.  She will progress to the innovators who moved to fiber and stitching.  Marcia will show you her journey as a fiber collage artist for over 20 years.  First, she made scarves, then created fabric to make garments and next to making vessels ala Kay Khan.  Her trunk show includes traditional pieces, such as scarves, one of a kind fabric collaged garments and then sculpture.  She will share her inspirations, successes, challenges, light-bulb moments and surprises in-between. This program is packed with tons of tips to inspire.

Workshop:   Fiber Collage Techniques

The WOW of creating collage samples in Marcia’s fun workshop will be like opening presents.  She will share a variety of ideas and techniques where collage fibers and fabrics are filled with layers of design, texture and details.  Your favorite fabrics will be combined using a variety of foundation fabrics such as Solvy and various fusibles to create very dynamic results.  Of course, everything is stitched, thus adding yet another level of textural elements that so many of us wearable artists love!  Focus will be on spontaneous creativity and freedom of expression while designing wearable art.
